Part 4 of 4 in a series by Tanner Guduaskas.

Everybody has inspirations or people they look up to. It’s what has helped me keep moving it all forward.

Nathan Fletcher is definitely one. I’ve never met someone with so much knowledge, yet so humble with how he delivers it. Nate’s the president in my eyes, and he was surfing better than I’d ever seen this year.

Dylan Graves is the creativity creature. It was insane seeing him nail the Double Shaka series. We even shot the “Selfies In Paradise” video for the cherry on top of the cake!

And Dane Guduaskas is GNAR. Not surfing like others. Not hitting sections or looking to make a combo out of it. I’m waiting for him to actually break a board in two pieces on one of his carves. He locks them in so hard!

Another is Wade Goodall. I just didn’t get a shot of him, but that would be the crew that for sure inspires me to surf harder, have more fun, and stay in it!

Thanks for taking the time to check out some of my Polaroids from Hawaii!

I feel so attached to the stories of these guys throughout this year, really stoked on the way these Polaroids came out. Tomas Tomas Hermes and Ana Romanio
are the epitome of a dream team. Tomas was inside the qualifying bubble
last year, got injured freesurfing at Rockies, then had to watch his
spot slip out from under him. To see him come back with the full steam
and qualify was so damn inspiring. We call him the tomahawk because when
he hits the lip his hands always go up just like a hawk coming in for
it’s prey!

Mikey Feb is the most rad. Supernatural is a word that I feel fits well. Reminds
me of Jimi Hendrix cause he is so mellow as a person, then when he
stands up on a surfboard he transforms from a mild demeanor to
FREESTYLE! Mikey is my favorite surfer to watch surf a heat I really
hope he gets the call up on one of the alternate spots next year.

then Pat Boy!
I love this shot because we were training a lot this winter and Pat was
putting in the time on the grind to get the shine. Beach runs, crawls
and swims, Pat was hammering it. Being in his corner, it was cool to see
his hard work pay off. So fricken stoked to see him back on tour!

Introducing a mini series by Tanner Guduaskas. Part 1 of 4.
This winter I brought a Polaroid camera to Hawaii for fun. I used a bunch of the Impossible Film with it and love the process of a Polaroid developing.

Going in, I wanted to shoot enough to make into wallpaper for my room and Hawaii felt like the perfect place for it because you’re always running into someone, so it’s nice to capture the moment.

I shot a bunch of what happens at the Vans team house, whether it’s the crew making music, Tomas teaching us capoeira, or just shooting the cruise!

Hope you enjoy a couple of my favorites from the season in the next few posts.

Happy Holidays to everyone from Dylan Graves, Tanner Gudauskas…
